About Me

Hi, my name is Betsy. I am mom, teacher, behavioral therapist, and educational program developer. Starting my educational career at Vanderbilt University, I earned my degree in special education and child psychology while shadowing some of the great minds in the fields of reading, behavior, and executive functioning.

I have been involved in the education and behavior fields for over 15 years, teaching at all levels of the public education continuum. After receiving my Masters in Special Education with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis, I took my passion to the home setting, providing behavioral services for children and coaching for their parents. I developed an educational program within the school system aimed at providing appropriate behavioral and social emotional education to students with intensive and diverse needs.

With the launch of Ascent Consulting, I’ve combined all my passions into one with the goal to empower families and students. I want you to have a confident voice as your child’s strongest support and advocate. I want your child to have the skills they need to be successful academically and behaviorally as they navigate through their formative years.

The best part?

You already have everything you need to get started - love, hope, and the willingness to explore new ideas for lasting change.
